ATM, Debit and Credit Card Security
Do:
- Keep your Personal Identification Number (PIN) a secret.
- Never write your PIN on your card or store it with your card. Memorise Your PIN numbers
- Review your account statements frequently for fraudulent transactions, and let us know if you spot anything unusual.
- Report lost or stolen cards immediately to the NBQ Call Center on 600 56 56 56. We're open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
- Use your PIN at Retailers with a Chip enabled terminal
- Take your receipts from ATMs and stores with you, and keep them for verification against your monthly statement.
- Block the view of keypads when using ATMs and CHIP enabled terminals at Retailers.
- Keep your card in a safe place.
- Cancel all inactive Debit /Credit Cards.
- Activate and sign on reverse of all new cards upon receipt.
- Shopping online and other online transactions should only be done on a secured (SSL) site. You can tell if the site is secure, because it will say https: instead of http:
Do Not:
- Do not give your card information out over the phone. This includes your 16 digit card number and your PIN. NBQ employees will never ask you for your PIN.
- Never use your birthdate, phone number, or car number as your PIN number.
- Do not allow anyone else to use your card or enter your PIN for you.
- Do not allow mail to go uncollected
- Do not expose your card to magnetic devices
